Madill has a fine sense of simply telling a memorable story.

Again, Frank Madill's reminiscences are wonderfully readable.

Madill is a good storyteller, and It All Comes Back to Sheep describes the pitfalls and the successes of his venture assisted as it was by a number of his patients who all seemed happy to lend a hand with the doctor's various and challenging projects on the farm.

While the book is, on the surface, about farming at Barrow View outside of Launceston, the book is much more.

An example is the tenderness he shows and the sympathy for those he encounters on his medical rounds.
